Hello there,

PSA: Recruitment for mentors is open for our 2025 run!

MENDAKI Club's flagship youth mentorship programme, PEER [which stands for Positive Experiences, Engaging Relationships] will be back for its next edition in 2025!

Organised with the support of community partners, M³@Tampines and M³@Woodlands, the PEER programme seeks to provide support, encouragement and positive role models for secondary school students (mentees) by pairing them with older youths from tertiary institutions, and the working world (mentors). The programme incorporates elements of experiential learning and developmental relationships that mentors facilitate through carefully curated activities.

If you are a student in a tertiary institution, or from the working world, we would like to extend a warm invitation for you to join us on this journey as a mentor. Recruitment is now open for mentors!

Mentor applications are now open and will close on
10 Jan 2025!

Why be a PEER mentor with us?

Well, this is your chance to be part of a growing community of people who are stepping forward to contribute, and uplift the lives of those in the community.

In this instance, your role as a mentor could serve to motivate, guide, empower, and support many youths who are trying to find their footing and direction as they navigate their teenage years and eventually into adulthood.

We've all been there and know how daunting the journey can be. So how about giving this mentorship gig a try? We promise that you will not regret it!

What's the selection process like?

To ensure the suitability of candidates, all applicants will go through an interview and screening process with relevant programme stakeholders prior to selection. Candidates will be assessed on factors such as an individual's motivation, attributes that would be key to being a good mentor, and past track record of leadership or mentorship experience.

Selected mentors are subsequently sent for mentorship training sessions with mentoring experts before the PEER programme commences.

What is the expected commitment level?

Mentors are required to commit to the following:

  • 1-2 x Training Sessions (January 2025)

  • 1 x Bonding Day (February 2025)

  • 12 x Bi-weekly Mentoring Sessions from 22 February 2025 - 16 August 2025

    • M3@Tampines: Saturdays, 9.00am -12.30pm;

    • M3@Woodlands: Saturdays, 2.00pm - 5.30pm

You will be paired with another mentor to ensure that at least one mentor can make it for any session.

Could you share what I can expect from the programme?

Of course! One way is to watch the highlights from PEER's 2024 edition in the video below:

What Mentors say:

“The most rewarding part of being a mentor is witnessing the personal development of my own mentee. Initially, she was very shy and timid. By the end of the programme, she was very outspoken and able to express herself freely with others.”
